Fifteen Castle Rise, Castle Cary
23 houses were built in a quiet cul de sac in the centre of Castle Cary in about 2001. I looked at the three 4 bedroom detached houses when they were under construction, and thought that they would suit me more than the much bigger Baytree House, but I wasn't really ready to move yet. When I found one of them on the market five years later, I took the bold step of moving. 15 castle rise was smaller and much easier (and cheaper) to run and maintain, and although I lost the view and the community of the Batcombe house, I never regretted the move, in 2007, into a house which was easier and cheaper to run and maintain, and within a few minutes walk of the shops. (Batcombe has no shops or bus service)
The house doesn't look very pretty from the front, but the garden was laid out in 2001 by a lanndcape gardener when the house was new. After ten years it has matured into a low maintenance garden and shows at its best in Late May to mid July.
Here it is on 1 June 2012 This is an automatic slide show.
